Alma Thibodeau Obituary

We are saddened to announce the peaceful passing of Alma Thibodeau of Memramcook (Beaumont) on October 28,2022 at the CHU Dr. Georges L. Dumont, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Cormier Village, she was the daughter of Emile Thibodeau and the late Huberte (Cormier) Thibodeau.

Alma will be dearly missed by her husband, Léon Ouellet, son Ian Ryan (Julie), daughter Alexa Ryan (Mathieu), stepson, Tyler Ouellet and her grandchildren whom she adored, Maïka and Adrien.

Alma is survived by her siblings, Rosella (Albert) Jacob of Grand Barachois, Denise (Léo-Paul) Arsenault of Grand Barachois, Emilia (Emery) Richard of St-André-LeBlanc, Roger Thibodeau of Cormier Village, Omer (Jocelyne) Thibodeau of Grand Digue and Eugène Thibodeau of Cormier Village.

She will also be lovingly remembered by her in laws, Francis and Diane Ouellet of Dover, Gordon and Cécile Ryan of Grand Barachois, Charles Goguen and Carole Ryan of Moncton. As well as several nieces, nephews and special friends.

She spent her summers at Gagnon Beach enjoying long walks on the beach, the company of good friends and often a good glass of wine. During the last 10 years, every weekend, she was off riding on the back of Leon's Harley. Those day trips were even more special when accompanied by their friends Doris and Ronald LeBlanc of Shediac, Bernard Duguay and Phyllis LeBlanc of Dupuis Corner and Kevin and Lynn Stevens of Dieppe. Being able to explore the Maritimes in this way brought her great happiness.

Alma was a kind person; she would always look for ways to help someone in need. When it came to family and friendly gatherings, there was never a time where she didn't arrive early with extra food or beverages and a helping hand. BON VIVANT are the words that come to mind.

The Universes gifts to Alma were her children, Ian and Alexa. Their birth and their children, her grandchildren, have given Alma everlasting happiness.

Alma/Mame was the fabric that tied us together. We are part of this fabric that taught us how to love, laugh, enjoy life, work hard and be helpful to others. Thank you, Mame, we will continue weaving this fabric.

Alma's family would like to offer a special thank you to Dr. Nicholas Finn, oncologist and his team for the excellent care they took of their mom and for the compassion and dignity they exhibited during the last phase of her life.

Her husband and family give deep felt thanks to all those who extended their kindness, generosity, help, care and love during her illness. Lots of gratitude goes out to Alma's special friends, Christine Richard (Memramcook), Carole Bourque (Memramcook), Diane Poirier-LeBlanc (Shediac) and Diane Légère (Cormier Village)

Honoring her wishes, there will no visitation or funeral. In honor of Alma's memory, donations are welcome and appreciated. They can be made to the CHU Dumont Foundation (Oncology) or a charity of donor's choice.
