It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of Alonzo “Al” Cormier on Friday, April 3 at Milton District Hospital at the age of 78. Born in College Bridge NB, he was the son of the late Hypolite and Zelma (Bourgeois) Cormier.
He will be sadly missed by his wife Barb (nee Bath) of 54 years. Loving father of Sherri (Dan), Chris (Karen) and Scott (Melody). Proud grandfather of Derek, Christopher and Payton, two sisters, Gérène (Roland) Pottier of Lindsay, Ont. and Pauline Cormier of Memramcook, two brothers Frank (Freda) Cormier and Gerry (Dolores) Cormier both of Memramcook, a close family friend Carm Bourgeois. Brother-in-law to Jean, Tom, Catharine, Marie-Belle, Huberte and Jean. Beloved uncle and great uncle to many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters, Stella LeBlanc, Rachel Gaudet and by four brothers, Eugène, Oscar, Claude and Fernand.
He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 197 Acton Ont. and an employee of Ford Motor Co., Oakville until his retirement.
In light of the current global pandemic with restrictions placed on group gatherings and the well-being of everyone, a private funeral will be held. Your condolences are very much appreciated during this very difficult time.
