Alva Auffrey

Alva Auffrey of Moncton (formerly of Pré-d’en-Haut) passed away on Thursday April 23, 2020 at her residence at the age of 97. Born on April 2, 1923 in Pré-d’en-Haut, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Hermance (Gaudet) Auffrey. She worked as a priest servant and sacristan for the Notre Dame de l’Annonciation R.C. Church, Pré-d’en-Haut until her retirement. She will be sadly missed four sisters, Aline (late Melas) Richard of St-Joseph, Ella Auffrey and Edna (late Lorenzo) Leger of Moncton and Marie (late Camille) Bourgeois of Belliveau Village and by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, three sisters, Germaine, Flora and Anita (infant) and five brothers, Francis, Walter, Alban, Freddie, Henri (infant).  In light of the current coronavirus pandemic and at the request of the family, there will be private visitation and funeral. Interment will be held in the Notre Dame de l’Annonciation parish cemetery, Pré-d’en-Haut.
