Bernard Belliveau Obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Bernard Belliveau on January 13th, 2023 at the age of 75, after a five year courageous battle with cancer.  He was surrounded by his loving wife and children at his residence of Old Shediac  Road. Bernard lived with his illness with great faith.

Born in Old Shediac Road (Memramcook) on February 3rd, 1947, he was the son of the late Yvon and Ida (Cormier) Belliveau.  He retired from CN Rail after 35 years of service. After his retirement, he returned to work doing what he enjoyed, driving heavy equipment.

Bernard was a family man who loved his wife, children and grandchildren with all his heart. They were his pride and joy. He loved to garden in the summer and his favourite pastime and passion was to go on his woodlot and cut his wood for the winter.  He loved being outdoors, taking walks in the forest and he appreciated all the wellness nature provided.  Bernard was a good-hearted fun-loving man who truly got a kick out of teasing everyone he knew. His laughter was contagious. He was a devoted grandfather to his three grandchildren.  He enjoyed driving them to school, buying them treats, supporting them in their extracurricular activities and giving them wise advice.  Most of all, it was his pleasure to snuggle with them on the couch and shower them with love.

He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of 55 years, Rachel, his daughter Lisa (Marc Bourque) of Old Shediac Road, his son Marc (Cheryl) Belliveau of Baie Verte NB, his three grandchildren Jasmine, Chloé and Alexandre, his step grandson Lance of Alberta, his brother Roger (Kathy) Belliveau of Old Shediac Road, several sisters-in- law and brothers-in-law, aunts, uncles as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister Jeannita Doiron (2007).

The family would like to thank the following people for the excellent care given to Bernard during his cancer journey:  Dr Ève St-Hilaire and all the staff at the Dr Léon Richard Oncology Centre, Dr Cédric Wybouw and all the staff at La Clinique Médicale Les Trois Moulins, pharmacist Robert Anderson and the staff at the Familiprix Pharmacy in Memramcook, and the Extra Mural Program staff in Dieppe.  Many thanks as well to everyone who showed our family care and compassion during these difficult times.

Visitations will be held at Dupuis funeral home, Memramcook on Tuesday January 17, 2023 from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm only. Funeral mass will be held at the Saint-Thomas de Memramcook Roman Catholic Church on Wednesday January 18, 2023 at 11 am. Interment will be held in the parish cemetery at a later date.

Arrangements are in care of Dupuis Funeral Home Memramcook. We would like to thank Serge and staff for their compassion and sensitivity given to our family.
