Obituary
We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Donald Melanson at his residence, the Foyer St-Thomas de Memramcook (formerly of Old Shediac Road) on February 1, 2023 at the age of 87. Born in Old Shediac Road on June 20, 1935 he was the son of the late Philippe and Léa (Melanson) Melanson. Donald was a very hard worker. He was good-hearted and always ready to help his family and friends. He was also a fun-loving man who loved to tell jokes and he always enjoyed a good laugh. He enjoyed fishing, playing hockey and golf with his many friends. He will be sadly and lovingly missed by his daughter Donna Légère of Old Shediac Road, his grandson Richard Jr of Chicago, United States, who he loved with all his heart, his sisters Dorine (Léo) Gauvin of Dieppe, Rachel(late Bernard) Belliveau of Old Shediac Road, one brother Léonard (Rose-Ella) Melanson of Old Shediac Road,several nieces, nephews and cousins. There will be no visitations as per Donald’s wishes. A private funeral mass will be held at the St-Thomas de Memramcook church at a later date. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
