It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jimmy Bourque on Tuesday March 7, 2023 at the Dr. Georges-L-Dumont UHC at the age of 85. Born in Beaumont (Memramcook) on July 4, 1937, he was the eldest son of the late Alfred and Edmée (Gautreau) Bourque.
He will be sadly missed by his loving wife Jeannette Bourque of 58 years, his three sons, Jean (Suzanne), Gilles (Chantal) both of Belliveau Village and Denis (John) of Fredericton, three grandchildren Amélie, Sébastien and Janelle who he cherished lovingly, three brothers Edmour (Claudette), Jean-Louis (Brigitte) both of Belliveau Village and Philias (late Angela) of Memramcook East, four sisters Charlotte (Louis-Philippe) Gaudet of Dieppe, Rachel (Louis) LeBlanc of Port-Coquitlam B.C., Murielle (Jean) Cormier of Memramcook East and Edith (Maurice) Robichaud of Moncton, as well as several nieces and nephews.
He retired as a truck driver with Armour Transport, and continued his other passion of Farming. He raised beef cattle for most of his life, passing this down to his sons who continue his legacy. He was a jack of all trades; woodsman, woodworker, carpenter, gardener and loved to do puzzles and play card solitaire. He was a member of the Club d’âge d’or de Pré-d’en-Haut.
Visitation will be held at Dupuis Funeral Home, Memramcook on Monday, March 13, 2023 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm, followed by a funeral service at 4:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Notre Dame de l’Annonciation Roman Catholic parish cemetery in Pré-d’en-Haut. The family would appreciate a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society.
