It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of a loving and kind mother Lila White, nee Sonier on April 6th, 2022 at George Dumont Hospital. Mom was just shy of her 95th birthday this month. She currently resided at Auberge Du Soleil and was originally from Memramcook, NB. Mom was born April 27th, 1927 in Memramcook East NB, the daughter of the late Eva and Thomas Sonier.
She leaves behind and will be sadly missed by her daughters, Vie Green (Dennis) of Dieppe, NB; Jeannette Bursey (Greg) of Halifax; son Leonard White of Havelock, NB; grandson Jason Green (Erin) of Ottawa and great grandchildren Declan, Imogen and Evelyn.
She is also survived by sister Ella Gaudet (Laurie); sister in law Jackie Saulnier and brother in law Walter Dyer. She also leaves to mourn many special nieces, nephews and friends from the Auberge du Soleil.
She was predeceased by her husband the late William White (2016) as well as brothers Alyre, Laurie, Amos, Ernie, Leonard and sister Annie.
We’d like to thank the staff at the Auberge du Soleil where mom received such great care. She was known to staff as the lady with the candy bowl. We’d also like to thank the caring staff at George Dumont Hospital and especially Dr. Albert and Dr. Gaudet.
Mom loved life and enjoyed a good laugh. She enjoyed Sunday drives especially when it ended with a feed of fried clams and a butterscotch sundae. She loved listening to music, playing bingo at the Auberge and enjoyed her scratch tickets.
Visitation will be held at Dupuis Funeral Home, Memramcook on Friday April 8th from 7pm to 9pm. A brief prayer will be held at the conclusion of the visitation.
