Rita Léger

Rita Léger of the Résidence Notre-Dame-Du-Sacré-Coeur, Dieppe (formally of McGinley) passed away peacefully on November 6, 2020 at her residence at the age of 98. Born in Pré-d’en-Haut on August 30, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Albénie and Rosalie (Gaudet) Auffrey. She worked for many years at the Archevêché de Moncton and at the Presbitère de Saint-Anselme. She lived for her children, grandchildren and especially her great grandchildren. She will be remembered for her delicious home cooked meals and beautiful quilts. Predeceased by her husband of more than 73 years, Leonard in 2019. She will be sadly missed by her two daughters, Louise L. Léger of Ottawa and Cécile (Guy) LeBlanc of Memramcook-East, and her two sons, Maurice (Paulette) of Dieppe and Jean-Marc (late Claudette) of Memramcook, five grandchildren, Mario (Sonia), André, Stéphanie (Eric), Margot and Mélanie (Louizandre) and four great grandchildren, Frédéric, Gabriel, Marika and Noémie, two sisters, Edmée (late Antoine) of Enfield, Connecticut and Thérèse (late Alphonse) of Dieppe, and by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one infant Annette and by two brothers, Aurèle and Alonzo. Visitations will be held at Dupuis Funeral Home, Memramcook on Monday November 9 from 6 to 9 pm only. Funeral mass will be held on Tuesday November 10 at the St-Thomas de Memramcook Roman Catholic Church, St-Joseph at 11:00 am. Interment will be held in the parish cemetery. Arrangements are in care of Dupuis Funeral Home, Memramcook.
